Loop de Loop Wallflower Project "La Luna" Sparkling Wine

$30.00

We love Julia & Scott from Loop de Loop Wines! We’ve collaborated many times on winemaker dinners both at Ebb & Co and at their gorgeous vineyard. They are the sweetest and most passionate couple and we are excited to bring you some of their new vintages this month in our wine club!

Located in Underwood, Washington on an extinct shield volcano at the edge of the Cascade Mountain Range and part of the Columbia Gorge AVA, Julia Bailey Gulstine and her husband, Scott Gulstine make beautiful high-altitude wines. A small family endeavor, Julia oversees the winemaking while Scott is in charge of their 9 acre vineyard, which is farmed meticulously employing regenerative organic farming practices. Their vineyard, Light Anthology, is 1250 feet in elevation with volcanic, ashy-sandy loam soil on a 33 degree slope facing southeast to the Columbia River, which plays a key role in allowing grapes to be grown here without frost problems. They grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner and Pinot Gris all nestled between two forests and surrounded by incredible biodiversity. The wines from this little mountain are bright, focused & intense. Julia practices low intervention winemaking: all the wines are fermented with wild yeasts that come in on the fruit and she lets the fruit and fermentation guide the process and her actions in the cellar. She doesn’t have a predetermined idea of what the wines will become, rather, she sees her role as their shepherd while they find their path. Generally less than 20ppm sulfur is added to the wines, and nothing else.

From Underwood Mountain and the Foxley Vineyard, this pink bubbly borders between a rosé and chill able red and is just pure joy in a bottle! It explodes with flavors of rasberry, cranberry, herbs and forest floor.
